Series 43 Unpublished Cross Section Records

This series contains an eclectic assortment of photographs, negatives, architectural drawings, correspondence and papers all broadly relating to architecture in Australia. Many of the records in this series were sent in to the editorial team of the Cross-Section newsletter between the 1950s and 1970s however these records were never published. These records were formally documented and added to the collection in June 2018.

Notable architects include Clarke Gazzard and Partners, James Birrell, Harry Seidler, Ernst Fooks, Stephenson and Turner, Durack and Brammer, Clarke Gazzard Yeomans, Douglas Snelling, Hely, Bell and Horne, Robin Boyd, John Dalton, Frank Lloyd Wright, Lawson, Cheesman and Doley, Gregory Burgess, Peter McIntyre and Romaldo Girgola.

Notable photographers include Mark Strizic, Max Dupain, Wolfgang Sievers, David Moore, Harry Sowden, Pat Purcell, Fritz Kos, L. and D. Keen, Ingerson-Arnold, Roy Dunstan, Kerry Dundas, Colin Ballantyne and Partners, Richard Edwin Stringer and E. J. Keane.

Series 44 Architecture Index Cards

This series contains a large set of alphabetised index cards (approximately 11,190) relating to the history of architects and builders operating in Australia from the 1950s to 1970s (the actual date of creation of the cards is unknown however). The series also contains some cards relating to overseas architects and builders, as well as cards relating to the history of Australian buildings. These records were formally documented and added to the collection in June 2018.
