Description

This series contains photographs related to local government buildings such as town halls, and centres that provide facilities for public use across Australia in the 1950s and 1960s. It includes architectural competition entries for Sydney City Council Head Office, and Perth Town Hall. The photographs in this series were published in the Cross-Section newsletter between 1954 and 1971. Notable architects include Yuncken Freeman Brothers, Cheesman Doley Brabham & Neighbour and Clarke Gazzard & Partners. Notable photographers include Max Dupain, Douglas Darian Smith, David Moore, Mark Strizic, Wolfgang Sievers, Ingerson-Arnold and Fritz Kos.
